Launched in 2012, Bold tells the story of economic and physical development in Barking and Dagenham, one of London's easternmost boroughs and home to the Sustainable Industries Park.
The Bold magazine website is updated weekly with stories compiled into quarterly email newsletter updates sent to subscribers.
The first Bold inward investment networking event took place on Monday 7 October 2013, chaired by London's deputy mayor for housing, land and property, Richard Blakeway.
"The first issue of BOLD has been very well received. It is a very valuable tool for our inward investment activity showcasing the regeneration work in Barking and Dagenham and the opportunities for investors. It has also been important in changing people's perceptions of the Borough. The team have been a pleasure to work with and the resulting product is of very high quality and good value for money."

"Bold is a high quality publication. The first issue has had significant impact in raising the profile of the businesseast site, the great regeneration opportunities that exist here on the science and technical park and of the benefits of our borough's strategic location in East London."
Land development and partnership leader,
"The event last night seemed to be a great success and very well supported. I think Darren's passion for Barking will carry his vision into realisation!"
Operations director for partnerships
"...a productive and well organised event..."
Senior business development manager

"Regeneration can be built in lots of different things, but culture is an essential block in some areas and Barking is clearly one of them. But regeneration does not happen without political leadership, sometimes to get out of the way to allow people to do things and sometimes to make things happen. I am sure that Barking and Dagenham is going to succeed because it's got a lot of ingredients but one of them is political leadership."
Chairman of policy and resources
City of London Corporation
"We have managed to create a relationship with the borough that is extremely strong. Development for us is not just about building, it's about leaving behind something for the people and the community."
"Barking's Creative Enterprise Zone proposal to the GLA is a grand vision and no doubt, with Darren at the helm, it shall be realised."
Head of development
"BOLD is the best magazine I've seen all year. It's absolutely fantastic and it has brought together what we are trying to encapsulate as a borough. We're not the only ones in this though. It is not just the council, it is our investors, our partners and our friends who are helping us create a sustainable future. I want people to go away today under no illusions. If you want to work with this borough, we will work with you to create a sustainable future."
