Hounslow is forecasting strong economic growth levels with unprecedented levels of development and investment. To capture this growth for the benefit of its residents, Hounslow Council is taking a lead role in coordinating regeneration, economic development, skills, training and planning.

This will all be delivered in partnership with the private and third sectors. To set out the approach and key areas of focus a paper has been submitted to the London Enterprise Panel. (Chaired by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, the LEP is the body through which the Mayoralty works with London's boroughs, businesses and Transport for London to take a strategic view of the regeneration, employment and skills agenda for London.) The paper aims to promote conversation and help the organisations work together, to ensure the delivery of common goals, and it will be presented to a business audience at a special event on 10 February 2014.

At the event the updated local economic assessment will also be revealed, as will the early visioning and master planning work for the Golden Mile.

A high-level discussion panel will examine these initiatives. Speakers include Harvey McGrath, deputy chairman of the LEP; Chris Stylianou, managing director, customer service group, BSkyB; as well as council members and representatives from local businesses.

The evening will close with a drinks reception with plenty of opportunities to network with council members, local businesses, investors and developers.
