A new global hub for cancer research and treatment to be developed in London saw the involvement of 3Fox International in initial consultancy work, helping to establish the business case for the scheme.

The London Cancer Hub, based in Sutton, has the potential to create more than 13,000 jobs and will deliver at least two extra cancer drugs every five years, according to a roadmap document published on Wednesday (3 February).

It is the result of a partnership between the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), the Royal Marsden NHS foundation trust and the London borough of Sutton. The Greater London Authority has provided start-up funding.

According to the plans, the hub will cover 265,000sq m on the Sutton site of the ICR and The Royal Marsden and will provide both laboratories and clinical facilities, integrating research and cancer care.
