The Gatwick Diamond Economic Summit was "by far the busiest we've had in the 10 years we've been doing it," said Gatwick Diamond Initiative executive director Rosemary French OBE at a well-attended event last Thursday (20 June) at the Arora Hotel in Crawley.
The annual summit in its 10th year was chaired by NatWest regional director Victoria Kerton, and the first to be organised by 3Fox International. The event brought together developers, investors, business leaders and local authorities to discuss vital growth opportunities in the region.
Kerton said: “The Gatwick Diamond is one of the UK’s strongest regional economies with over 45,000 businesses and it contributes £24bn to our UK GDP. We are all part of this - businesses large and small, private and public sector, employees of today and our generation of students and apprentices for tomorrow.
“We are all able to participate in the shaping of the vision and delivery of growth of this vibrant region, to ensure that we have interesting and valuable employment opportunities for the future.
“We are a region of great talent and attractiveness to employment, students and to business. Let’s take it forward, be ambitious and let’s put that ambition into action now.”
